"For me, art is a way of communication, expression, growth, and healing. It has been a path towards emotional, energetic, and spiritual transformation in which I can feel a certain mysticism and magic, touching the most human, sensitive, and loving aspects of my being.

My art aims to bring to canvas the vital energy that humans consciously generate and that I want to transmit and disseminate in each of my pieces. Within each creation and project, I try to leave a special vibration and emotion, not only by plasmid colours or materials on an inert material but also by giving a message that arises from the human experience: to transcend, expand, elevate, and nourish."

Nurhi Calleja

The integration of the organic with abstract work is evident in Nurhi's paintings. The artist evokes biomorphic references such as flowers, plants, and fields, which converse with straight, geometric brushstrokes. In this way, Nurhi encodes her canvases in pleasing blues, harmonious pinks, subtle yellows, and tranquil whites. Therefore, her canvases are peaceful and meditative spaces that remind us of nature in its abundance. Precisely in the simplicity of her compositional elements, reliefs, and textures, the paintings exude a spiritual density and an intangible charge that comes from the artist's soul. This emanation undoubtedly evokes states of calm, fluidity, and tranquility, as well as awakenings of consciousness.

For Nurhi, art is a means of transformation and evolution, where the most valuable element is the emotional and energetic message she embodies in her pieces. The backgrounds of her works simply serve as a sensitive foundation for vibrating with these codes of light, love, well-being, fulfillment, and any feeling of contentment. There's no need to decipher anything, as the spirit itself receives the symbolism, which, in this case, is colored with a joyful and stimulating palette.

One could say that the artist sows the pictorial support with water, earth, air, fire, and ether, later harvesting, with palette knives and brushes, colorful fruits that nourish the soul. All of this arises from a blend of styles ranging from post-impressionist and expressionist to lyrical abstraction and a touch of figuration.

On the other hand, her sculptures sculpt the human figure in both its feminine and masculine forms, so that nudes, hands, and faces are integral to her work, which also retains that mystical quality. Therefore, the forms, figures, tones, and other elements permeate our subconscious thanks to their resonant aesthetic. Nurhi portrays the beauty of the intangible, the immaterial, that which is only visible to the eyes of the spirit and appreciated by the soul. One experiences a visual delight and joy among her colors, contours, silhouettes, and lines that bring us an indescribable feeling of jubilation and happiness.
